Welcome to the website of the Friends of CHaT Parks – the three parks that make up Wakefield Park.
We are an independent voluntary group that works with Wakefield Council and others to ensure that our park is safe, attractive and well used. This website tells you more about the Friends, how to join us and how to volunteer.
Our aims are:
– To protect, create, develop and improve Clarence Park, Holmfield Park and Thornes Park as amenities for Wakefield
– To encourage high standards of maintenance of the Parks and their facilities
– To stimulate public interest and engender a sense of civic pride in the beauty, history and character of the Parks
– To encourage a wider use of the Parks by all sections of the community

Our Games of Thornes – pitch and putt, bowls, putting, tennis – are open for the Easter weekend. From Saturday to Monday the ticket office is open from 10.30am to 5pm. Please remember that the games are weather permitting.
