The Clarence Park Bandstand Project has been set up with the aim of improving the Bandstand for various user groups and the Community.
Wakefield Council hope to achieve two objectives through this project: to upgrade the Bandstand and to ensure the sustainability of the Bandstand by generating interest from a wider audience.
Wakefield Music Collective will be carrying out a joint bid with WMDC in order to repair and refurbish the bandstand. External funding to carry out this project has been applied for.
The project hopes to take into account all age groups and meet the needs of the community of Wakefield as a whole.
The aim is to out the following –
- Damp elimated
- New roof Internal and External
- Grass area at front of building removed and tarmaced over
- Outside lighting all around
- New guttering
- All rotten wood replaced
- Alarm installed
- 2nd basement room useable
- New non-slip flooring all over
- Outside of building repainted
